Big Sean is opening up about his thoughts on marriage and explaining why he and his girlfriend Jhené Aiko have not tied the knot after eight years of dating.

In a recent interview with XXL, Big Sean said that he and Jhené are simply not ready for marriage yet. He explained that he sees marriage as a sacred institution that should not be entered into lightly.

"I think marriage is a beautiful thing," Big Sean said. "But I also think it's something that should be taken seriously. I don't want to just get married because it's what society expects of me. I want to get married because I'm ready and because I know I'm going to be with this person for the rest of my life."

Big Sean also said that he and Jhené are still working on their relationship. He said that they are both still growing and learning, and that they want to make sure they are both ready for marriage before they take that next step.

"We're still working on ourselves," Big Sean said. "We're still learning and growing. And I think that's important to do before you get married. You want to make sure you're both ready for that commitment."

Big Sean's comments come just a few months after Jhené Aiko said in an interview with Essence that she is "not in a rush" to get married.

"I'm not in a rush to get married," Jhené said. "I'm happy with where I am right now. I'm in a great relationship, and I'm not worried about getting married. I'll get married when I'm ready."
